I get asked all the time why on earth would you jump in a frozen lake? The first answer is I like the cold! The adrenaline from a shock of ice is amazing, and it feels so good! The second and more important answer is that my cousin Caitlyn has been a Special Olympian for almost 15 years. Caitlyn has participated in all sorts of events from horseback riding, to bowling, to football, and always swimming. Special Olympics has helped Caitlyn foster a sense of community and belonging while staying active and having fun! The staff at Special Olympics are always caring and supportive, and I want to make sure Caitlyn can continue to earn those medals as long as she wants to!
