Mariah Jacobsen
I’m taking the Polar Plunge because I believe in inclusion, courage, and the power of community. Special Olympics creates opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities to grow, compete, and shine. The Polar Plunge is one small (and very cold!) way I can support that mission.
By jumping into freezing water, I’m helping raise awareness and funds that directly support year‑round sports programs, health resources, and leadership opportunities for thousands of athletes. Their determination and joy inspire me, and this plunge is my chance to give back, stand alongside them, and help ensure everyone has the chance to experience the confidence and connection that sports can bring.
It might be chilly for a few minutes, but the impact lasts far longer. That’s why I’m proud to take the plunge.
